crock pot style ~ barbecue- cheeseburgers

This started out as a recipe from a cookbook that my kids gave me with the new Crock Pot Buffet they gave me for mother's day this year...

2 lbs ground beef (browned and drained)
1/2 cup red onion (diced)
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/3 cup barbecue sauce (any brand or flavor that is your favorite will do)
1 tbsp mustard (I like the course ground deli style best)
3/4 cup processed American cheese (cubed - you know the stuff... it's often called Velveeta... ok so, I didn't say this was low-cal OR healthy... he he...)

Add the first 5 ingredients to the crock pot and stir a little, to combine. Add the cubed processed cheese on top, DO NOT stir. Heat on high for 2-3 hours or on low for 3-5 hours. If your crock pot has a "warm" setting you can leave it all day and it will be ready when you are. Stir the cheese in gently just before serving on buns or hoagy rolls... Great with chips, salads, baked beans and other barbecue type foods... This recipe freezes well after it is removed from the crock pot and reheats in the microwave like a champ. Serves 10-15 people depending on age and hunger...
